Days 35-36, Bryce Canyon

May 15-16, 2005: Ahead on Highway 12 is Bryce Canyon, no doubt one of the prettiest of all the national parks. This park is also a draw for visitors from all over the world, for its scenery and unique rock formations (called "hoodoos").

These formations have inspired the imaginations of many, who have compared them to cathedrals, statues of people or animals, cities, or forests of candy corn. The native tribe which used to inhabit the region believed they were people turned to stone by Coyote.

Natural Bridge. With an elevation of nearly 9,000 feet at some points, patches of snow still cover the ground.
